The Broken Heel Festival is excited to host an inclusive and accessible event for all.

If you are a guest with a lived experience of disability or require some additional mobility considerations please read the details below regarding our Glamping site:

The glamping site is located at the Jubilee Oval sports ground. It has wheelchair accessible amenities, step-free access to enter the facilities from carpark or along a paved continuous accessible path of travel. Please note, this paved path of travel does do continue to the grass oval infield where the tents will be located.

Further details regarding accessibility for the glamping tents are below:

If you require wheelchair access and would like to be accommodated in one of our glamping tents please contact The Palace Hotel on email priscilla@thepalacehotelbrokenhill.com.au or Phone 08 8088 1699.

We can position your tent/s closest to the entry gate, so when you enter the oval, the need to push over the grass in a wheelchair or other mobility devise is minimised. Where possible we could also provide some hard-stand flooring between the gate entry and your tent. If you would like this option please contact us.

All beds within the tent are standard solid timber frame beds (not traditional camping beds). This should make transferring from a wheelchair onto the bed much easier. The bed height is 45cm including an inner spring mattress & mattress topper. There are no side rails or grab handles on the bed frame

Both the Queen and Twin Bed tent options have an internal circulation space with the tent being 5m in diameter which will provide adequate circulation space for a push or power-chair user.

We know some power-wheelchair users also need access to power for the purposes of recharging their power-chair battery. Please contact us if you require this consideration.

Please also contact us if you need quick access to a wheelchair accessible toilet from your glamping tent. If you require this consideration we can also pre-position your tent in close proximity to the toilet amenities.

If you require further assistance with any mobility, sensory or cognitive needs while staying with us in the glamping area please reach out to one of our friendly volunteers. We wish you an enjoyable and fun time at the Broken Heel Festival.
